Instrucation
-
Door Pins are coated with a special rust inhibitor to
retard oxidation, however, bare steel will develop a small amount of surface
rust even in the package. Once removed from the package and when exposed to the
elements the pins will rust. Prime and paint the head to match your vehicle
(touch up paint works well for this), preferably after installation on the
vehicle.
-
The pin installation process is easier done with two
persons.
-
Remove the door from the
vehicle by removing the nuts and lifting the door off the vehicle.
-
Turn the door upside down and place on a soft surface
to protect the door. Drive the broken/damaged pin out of the hinge with a
hammer. If necessary, use a drift punch to complete the removal of the pin from
the hinge.
-
Turn the door back upright. Drive the new pin(s) in
place until the head is firmly seated on the hinge.
-
Carefully replace the door on the vehicle and replace
the retaining nuts. Jeeper Keepers sells Door Keepers for all models of
Wrangler to protect your doors from theft.
